Davies Allen, P.C. Accountant Feature- Dustin Barnhurst

I grew up in the small town of Fillmore, UT where I enjoyed sports and the outdoors. After High School, I went on a two year LDS (Mormon) mission to Micronesia. Then I attended Snow College. I graduated with an Associates Degree in Business from Snow, but more importantly met my wife McKenzie there. After Snow, I moved on to SUU where I earned a Bachelors in Accounting and two graduate degrees, Masters of Accounting and Masters of Business Administration. From there I took a position with Deloitte in Las Vegas, after a few years there I had the opportunity to join the Davies Allen, P.C. team. I took that opportunity and have loved being a part of the team here for almost 5 years.

What shows are you into?

There is a youtube series called Land of Free that I’m really enjoying right now. Additionally, my wife and I enjoy watching Bull (CBS) and Lethal Weapon (fox). If we want to lighten things up we go for Big Bang Theory (CBS)

Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished?

Brad and J.W.I think what is most impressive to me is the that Brad and JW have been able to grow the firm as big as it is, but still give the clients the small firm customer service they deserve.

How do you relax after a hard day of work?

I’m not sure if I actually relax, but what I enjoy most is when I come through the door at my house my two little girls are so excited that I’m home. Then we play Barbies and dress ups or watch princess shows or pretty much anything else that 3 and 5-year-old girl are into. We do play soccer and T-ball occasionally, which is more my style.

What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?

I enjoy shed antler hunting (every year deer and elk “shed” their antlers meaning the fall of their heads and then they grow new ones). There was one trip I went on with some buddies and we ended up finding 53 antlers in a place that a lot of people go. I found 12 that day. It was a place we had not been to before so it was definitely luck to find that many in about 12 hours.

What do you wish you knew more about?

Honestly, I wish I knew more about cars. I have always liked cars and truck, but never really understood how they work or how to fix them.

Thank you, Dustin, for sharing a little bit about yourself!
